If you have browsed a lot of sites, you've probably come across some error message from time to time. An error can take place in case the server can't process a request (Error 400), if you must log in so as to see some content and you haven't done so (Error 401), if you are not able to access a webpage (Error 403) or if a link leads to a file that is not on the hosting server (Error 404). Getting this sort of messages can sometimes be frustrating because the pages have absolutely nothing in common with the actual Internet site. That’s why some website hosting service providers allow you to set your own error pages which will match the design of your own site and that could have any content that you'd like - details why the error has appeared, a suggestion how to handle it or even some amusing comment. This kind of feature can help you keep the visitor on the website no matter the error and the reason for it.

Custom Error Pages in Cloud Hosting

The personalized error pages feature is available with each cloud hosting plan which we offer and you will be able to swap all of the generic pages with your own with no more than several mouse clicks from your Hepsia website hosting CP. You shall have to produce the actual files and to upload them to your account, and then to set them for a specific domain or subdomain using the Hosted Domains section of the Hepsia CP. You may do this for each and every site hosted inside the account individually, so that every set of custom made pages will have the same style and design as the Internet site it is part of. If necessary, you could always revert back to a default page from our system or to the default Apache server page. A different way to set personalized error pages is to create an .htaccess file in the domain/subdomain root folder and to add a few lines in it. If you haven't done this before, you may simply copy the required program code from our Help article about this.

Custom Error Pages in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you host your web sites in a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you may set custom error pages for each of them with ease through our in-house built Hepsia hosting CP. With just several mouse clicks inside the Hosted Domains section, you can edit the default setting from a system page to a customized one for each of the four error types. All you need to do is provide a link to each file which you have uploaded before that and then save the change. If required, you shall be able to revert this modification at any time and in exactly the same way. If you want, you could use an .htaccess file too. It has to be created/uploaded in the domain or subdomain folder linked to the internet site whose error pages you want to modify and the content for such a file can be found in our Help article for this matter.
